Barrowland Ballet is a company limited by guarantee with charity status and is funded by Creative Scotland as well as various trusts, foundations and individual donors. We collect information every time you interact with us. The type and quantity of information we collect and how we use it depends on why you are providing it.

WEBSITE: When you sign up to our mailing list on our website we will collect and store the personal information you provide such as your name, email address and phone number.

 

SERVICES: When using our services, you provide us with personal information including your name, email address, date of birth, telephone number as well as any other personal information you disclose in connection with the delivery of that service.

 

Please note that sometimes we will require you to provide additional personal information, and sometimes sensitive personal information. For example, when signing up to our participatory projects we will collect medical information and emergency contact details to safeguard participants’ well-being when taking part in an activity with us, assist them and alert a family member/guardian in the case of an emergency. This information is only made available to members of staff who have a legitimate need to view and process this information.

2.1 CHILDREN, YOUNG PEOPLE AND VULNERABLE ADULTS

WEBSITE: We care about the safety and privacy of children online and comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA). COPPA and its accompanying regulations protect the privacy of children using the internet. We do not knowingly contact or collect information from persons under the age of 16. The website is not intended to solicit information of any kind from persons under the age of 16. If you are under 16, please do not attempt to register for the Services or send any Personal Information about yourself to us. If we learn that we have collected Personal Information from a child, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. SERVICES: We are committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults and do all we can to ensure that all who participate with Barrowland Ballet are safe and inspired by their experience. An important part of doing this is to protect their privacy. All information collected and stored about anyone under the age of 16 is provided to us by a parent or guardian.

 

2.2 EVALUATIONS

It is very important to the development of Barrowland Ballet’s programme and to our funders to receive feedback from you on performances and participatory projects. As well as information on our activity or event we collect personal data such as name, age and postcode. When reporting back to funders, this data is anonymised and aggregated to ensure no information can be traced back to any individual.

 

2.3 FILMING AND PHOTOGRAPHY

For participatory projects and workshops hosted by Barrowland Ballet we will arrange filming or photography; Explicit opt in consent will be obtained from participants at the start of every project.

We sometimes use this footage or images to promote Barrowland Ballet, its events and activities in the following types of materials:

–              Event Posters & Flyers

–              Digital communications e.g. on our website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels

–              Reports and evaluations of specific projects to key funders and supporters

All personal information collected is kept in password protected documents for administration purposes only.

 

Our online donations are processed by paypal which is DCI compliant. Our online newsletter is powered by Mailchimp who are GDPR compliant. We have signed a Data Agreement with Mailchimp to ensure all information is stored and used correctly. For transparency, people are only able to sign up to the Barrowland Ballet newsletter through our website, facebook and twitter.

 

5. RETENTION, ACCESS TO, CORRECTION AND REMOVAL OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We will hold your personal information on file for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity. You are entitled to access, amend or delete information we hold about you at any time.
