Dancers
Barrowland Ballet, Scotland and Atta Festival, Turkey seek two highly skilled contemporary dancers (1 female and 1 male) for the recreation of a work for children and simultaneously the research, development and creation of a new production for children with complex needs. We are looking for versatile contemporary dance artists confident with a theatrical character roles and comfortable in a devised process to learn an existing piece for children and for the development of a new production. Working with choreographer Natasha Gilmore the new work will be a sensory dance theatre production built through improvisation and exploration. It is essential that they have an interest in making work with children with complex needs where the children are central to the process and have creative agency in the making of the work. The piece will include singing and body percussion. Applicants should have a working knowledge of English.

Musician
Barrowland Ballet and Atta Festival are looking for a musician who has proficiency in a number of instruments. In the production they will sing, accompany themselves on Ukulele, play a wind instrument (ideally clarinet) and play a melody on the bells. We are keen to find a musician who has experience of performing and devising theatre productions, ideally someone who has experience of creating and performing work for children. It is essential that they have an interest in making work with children with complex needs where the children are central to the process and have creative agency in the making of the work. The performer will be required to lift and move heavy parts of the set during the performance and engage with the young audience directly. Applicants should have a working knowledge of English.

Choreographer
Natasha Gilmore and Atta festival seeks a highly skilled contemporary dance choreographer with at least 3 years of professional experience for the recreation of a work and the research, development and creation of a new sensory theatre production for children with complex needs. The successful candidate will assist in the development of a new production that will be made in Scotland, a sensory theatre show made for and with children with complex needs. They will work with Natasha Gilmore, the artistic director of Barrowland Ballet to devise this new production with two dance artists and a musician, there will be two casts, a Scotland based cast and a Turkey based cast. We are looking for someone who can confidently take responsibility the touring versions of the work in Turkey, both the existing work for pre-school audiences, and the new sensory show for children with complex needs for the. They do not necessarily need previous experience in children’s work but should be choreographers comfortable in a devised process and an interest in making work with children with complex needs where the children are central to the process and have creative agency in the making of the work. Applicants should have a working knowledge of English.
