A mountain of discarded wrapping. A lonely child with an active imagination.
It’s often the cardboard boxes, not the gifts inside that are the most fun.
Is the true gift the joy that can come from the imagination?
This is a story reversing the idea that it is the wrapping paper, the cardboard boxes and the bubble wrap that should be discarded, and reveals that playfulness, creativity and imagination are the true gifts.
We’ve been quietly busy over the last couple of months…
Earlier this year, three of Scotland’s largest cultural organisation’s: Capital Theatres Edinburgh, Aberdeen Performing Arts and Eden Court, joined forces to offer a unique, multi-year commission to create and produce three small-scale festive productions for early years audiences, each to be presented in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Inverness between Christmas 2021 and Christmas 2023.
We’re excited to now announce that Barrowland Ballet is one of the three commissions, and that we’ll be performing our new festive show The Gift, for 18 months – 5 years and their families at Eden Court this Christmas, running from 14-23rd December 2021.
We are so delighted to receive this commission by three such well-loved theatre venues and thrilled to be creating and sharing a new magical festive show for young audiences and their families over the next three years.
Tickets are on sale now. Come join us for some festive fun!
