We’d like to give a warm welcome to our Atta Festival, Turkey cast and choreographer who arrived in Scotland this week.
Atta Festival and Barrowland Ballet, along with pupils from Isobel Mair School, Newton Mearns, are delighted to be collaborating in the creation of a new sensory production specifically for young people with complex needs, based on our original show Poggle. The co-production offers a valuable opportunity for both companies and performers to exchange knowledge and skills; together create an adaption of Poggle specifically for young people who experience the most barriers to access; and develop closer ties between the two countries through arts.
We’ve had a brilliant first week in residency at Isobel Mair School, first teaching the original show Poggle to our brilliant Turkish cast, before working together with pupils to start the creation process of the new sensory show Poggle and Me.
We’re looking forward to returning to the school next week to continue to refine the piece. The new show, Poggle and Me, will then have it’s Turkish premiere at the end of September.
This project is supported through British Council’s International Collaboration Grant.
