Join Barrowland Ballet in our production The River, an official Festival 2014 event /

Celebrate the Commonwealth Games and join Barrowland Ballet in our production The River

The River is a large-scale, site-specific dance and choir production set on the banks of the Clyde.  It will be performed by Barrowland Ballet’s professional ensemble alongside a large community cast of dancers and choirs from across Scotland under the artistic direction of Natasha Gilmore.

We are looking for participants to take part in The River which is being performed on the 20th and 21st July 2014.  If you are interested in getting involved as a community dancer you will need to be available to rehearse 3 times a week from Monday 30th June to Monday 21 July, either during the day or in the evenings, dependent on your availability.  A detailed schedule will be available in the New Year, please email belinda@barrowlandballet.wpcomstaging.com if you are interested in receiving this. The minimum age to participate is 14 years.

For the River we are working across the age ranges for an intergenerational cast and have a limit on the number of performers we can have in each group and at the venue in total. In case we are oversubscribed we have decided the fairest way to decide who participates is to pull names from a hat.

I have attended one of Natasha Gilmore’s choreography workshops before and would love to participate in this amazing project!
