Introducing Producer (Maternity Cover), Gail Sneddon /

We are delighted to introduce Gail Sneddon who has joined us as Producer (maternity cover).
Gail has been part of UK’s dance ecology, in many areas of dance practice, for over 25 years, from being a Dance Artist, Choreographer and Director to widening her scope towards dance development, programming and artist development across Scotland.

Growing up in Lanarkshire, she has a strong sense of the importance of empowering communities through dance. As Dance Development Lead at The Beacon Arts Centre and Dance North Scotland she devised work with a range of performers from children and teenagers to senior participants who each brought their own language and stories to the stage. This led to becoming Artistic Director for Dance North Youth Company and the Director of the highly acclaimed site-based performance SAVAGE and featured in this year’s LIST Magazine’s HOT 100.

In her own right Gail is an award-winning Renfrewshire based dance artist who makes immersive and sensorial performance works through dance, video, sound and space. Gail graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire in 1997 and has performed for companies such as Nigel Charnock, Athina Vahla and Ersatz. In 2002, she completed an MA in Scenography at Central St Martins College of Art and Design.

In 2012 Gail worked with Claire Cunningham as Mentor on 12 for Candoco Dance Company and as Co-director and video artist for Menage a Trois in partnership with National Theatre Scotland which toured internationally and won Gail a CATS award (Critics Award In Scotland). Gail worked as movement director and video designer on Interference directed by Cora Bissett, a National Theatre Scotland production and most recently Company Manager for Rosemary Lee’s Threaded Fine.
