So our next large-scale participatory project Wolves has officially launched and what a howl it has been! Having all the 60 plus participants in one studio was an incredible den of energy, enthusiasm and fun. It was so nice to see regular Barrowland Ballet community cast members as well as new faces learning and creating movement for the show at Tramway on 18th March and the Beacon Arts Centre on 25th March.
Having an inter-generational cast is what makes this piece so special with the sharing of life experiences and energy. This is something I always find inspiring both as a dancer and as an audience member. Life experience and dancing for the love of it is something that cannot be taught and all our Wolves pack have these naturally making it a real joy for me to be involved in and to learn from these guys. The generosity of the wolves family is phenomenal and I can’t wait to share the stage with them.
I have also loved playing with apples and the set so I can’t wait to see how these develop (I never realised how quickly an apple turns into a ball of sticky mush!). See you all at the show!
