Jo Walmsley

Jo joined Barrowland Ballet as Executive Producer in 2018, bringing over 20 years’ experience in strategic planning, organisational management and programme delivery in senior roles within the Creative and Cultural Sector. Jo’s work has a particular focus on socially engaged practice, developing environments where people engage deeply with new experiences, and cross-artform form collaboration- often within high profile, dynamic and complex contexts. Notable previous roles include: Vice-Chair of the Board, Beacon Arts Centre; Head of Engagement, Tramway; Senior Producer, Unlimited Festival, Tramway; Senior Producer, Turner Prize 2015; Senior Producer, Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games; Assistant Advance Manager, London 2012 Torch Relays; Assistant Cast manager: Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games Flag Handover Ceremony; Glasgow Life Arts Development Officer. Jo’s professional qualifications include Prince 2 Project Management – 2013 (pass with distinction) and MA (Hons) English Literature and Theatre Studies at University of Glasgow.
