Barrowland Ballet Kicks Off the Year with Global Tours and Sold-Out Shows
Barrowland Ballet has started 2026 with an exciting series of international tours, bringing its productions to new countries and audiences around the world.
In March, Family Portrait travelled to the Schrittmacher Festival in The Netherlands, while The Unexpected Gift returned to the stage with stops at The MAC, Belfast International Children’s Festival, and the Big Umbrella Festival at the Lincoln Center, New York. During the Belfast festival, Artistic Director Natasha Gilmore joined Andrew Stanford, Director of Inclusion Theatre, for a conversation on the importance of inclusive performance.
Meanwhile, Tiger Tale/Playful Tiger toured across Asia, beginning in Singapore for Esplanade’s March On Fest and concluding in Hong Kong at West Kowloon’s FunFest. The production received glowing reviews, including praise from Singapore’s Straits Times: "Tiger Tale has all the ingredients for playful family time that will draw out your inner child and entertain children."
Audience reactions have been overwhelmingly positive:
“Super good show and full of surprises
”10/10, the staging was so good”
”So much fun, so much heart and so full of life”
”I didn’t expect myself to cry when I saw children being... children”
”This show will stay in my heart forever”
In addition to touring work, Natasha Gilmore led workshops Hong Kong and in Singapore on creating work for and with neurodivergent audiences, organised by Esplanade Singapore and Assitej Singapore.
Back in the UK, Barrowland Ballet’s intergenerational company Wolf Pack has been rehearsing diligently in preparation for the premiere of their new work ‘HA HA HA’ for Go Dance 2026 at Theatre Royal, Glasgow in last month.
Thank you for reading and stay tuned as we share more touring news soon.
