Introducing our new Senior Producer

We’re delighted to be kicking off the New Year by warmly welcoming our new Senior Producer, Sarah Imaki.

Sarah is a creative producer with a background in developing and producing diverse and innovative performing arts projects. As an independent producer, Sarah has produced for the Old Vic, Punchdrunk, Trigger, London Borough of Culture, Fuel, Dance Umbrella, The Place, Untitled Projects and the Unicorn Theatre. And between 2011 – 2016, she was Deputy Head of New Work at the National Theatre, supporting a commissioning slate that featured the UK’s leading theatre makers. Sarah has been involved with projects that have included dreaming up an immersive adventure to accompany a globally iconic spy film franchise; a healthtech innovation which connected ICU patients with their loved ones during Covid; and an experiential workshop performance which celebrated Waltham Forest’s tin toymaking heritage by recreating a factory inside a disused school building.

Sarah was nominated for the Audio Production Awards Best Arts Producer in 2021 for her work on the Storyglass podcast series What I Love, in which theatre director Ian Rickson interviewed leading cultural figures including Kae Tempest, Cush Jumbo and Chiwetel Ejiofor. She has trained on Clore, Common Purpose and V&A Cultural Management programmes, and has sat on selection panels for Made In Scotland, the Artsadmin bursary and the Total Theatre Awards. Sarah has mentored for the Jerwood Foundation and the Edinburgh Fringe Producers programme, and is delighted to be joining Barrowland Ballet to help take their groundbreaking performance all around the world!

Welcome to the team Sarah! You can get in touch with her at sarah@barrowlandballet.co.uk
