Nicola Denman
Nicola is a dedicated and highly motivated Arts Manager with over a decade of experience in Scotland’s dance sector. She brings a wealth of expertise in the smooth administration and management of company operations, including HR and finance, as well as the successful delivery of national and international tours. Nicola also has a strong track record in coordinating and evaluating exceptional participatory projects, including large-scale and intergenerational works that bring communities together through dance.
A passionate advocate for inclusive access to the arts, Nicola also leads Barrowland Ballet’s participatory programme, with particular pride in her work with their intergenerational company, Wolf Pack. Since joining Barrowland Ballet in 2016, she has overseen a wide range of impactful projects. Prior to this, she collaborated with the company on major participatory works—Ultra Violet, Bunty & Doris, and The River—through her role as Dance Participation Officer at Macrobert Arts Centre, Stirling.
Nicola has also worked with esteemed dance companies such as Curious Seed and Janis Claxton Projects, through producing house Catalyst Dance Management. She holds a Diploma in Arts and Cultural Management and a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Neuroscience, blending a diverse skill set with a thoughtful, people-focussed approach to leadership in the arts.
