A breath of fresh air from Nandi /

Here we are, knee deep into our fifth week of rehearsals for Barrowland Ballets new piece Whiteout. Our bodies are working, creation is flowing, excitement is brewing for a premier on April 29th and 30th at Tramway, and I couldn’t be happier to be here.

What a breath of fresh air it has been to be experiencing this wonderful new city. There is such a warmth here in Glasgow that far outweighs the weather! I write this as the sun shines through the window! There is a great energy here, and a vibrant creative community that are so open and inclusive.  I have felt so warmly welcomed by the Barrowland family, and the good people of Glasgow as a whole. I feel like I have made some really lovely connections already, even in this short time.

The creative process for the show has been full and focused, powerful movement, sensitivity and humour, and incredibly emotive and inspiring music. I can’t thank Natasha and the Barrowland family enough for having me, I can’t thank Glasgow enough for its brilliance so far. People make Glasgow’, couldn’t be a truer saying.
